IDNR shot an elk?

I heard the DNR shot a bull elk in western Iowa. Does anyone have any info on this?

Hadn't heard that. I know there are 2 bulls a cow and a calf roaming around south central Iowa. As of last week the bull on my property was still roaming around trying destroy my trail camers. Don't know about the other 3 in ringold county though

I talked with a DNR employee (not a CO) this morning at church. He told me that there was a elk put down. He said it was acting strange and they were afraid it was going to get hit on I35, so they had it put down. Sent in samples for testing.
