If you could change your states deer season?

I agree with the Iowa season being excellent. The only thing I would like to see is the addition of a free doe tag with the purchase of our tags, to thin down the does. Othe than that, I am very satisfied.
 
I spoke with Lonnie Hanson and think he is quite progressive but he realizes that regulations need to accomodate the opinions of the masses. Once a large portion of the hunters of Missouri want qdm you will have it. It comes down to educating hunters and shifting attitudes, both of which seem to take a lot of time.

Gary Alt is doing some great stuff in Pennsylvania. I think once the rest of the states see what they will accomplish a lot more hunters will be willing to pass small bucks and let them grow.

I like the season in South Carolina where I hunt just perfect. Bow only runs from Sept. 15 to September 30. Muzzleloader is from Oct. 1 thru the 10th. Rifle season is Oct. 11 thru January 1. After Oct. 11 you can hunt with any weapon you choose. Our limit is 3 deer during bow only. 2 deer during muzzleloader only, and then 10 deer after the rifle season comes in for a total of 15 deer. 5 of these can be bucks. Only thing I would change is the buck limit to 3. I think by opening the season up for a long period you don't have everyone breaking their neck to go because they have just a handful of days. Even with these liberal limits we can't hardly kill enough deer to keep the population in check. We practice QDMA on my club so we only take bucks 15" outside or better, and every doe we can. Even with us doing this you can't tell you've killed anything by the start of the next season.
 
I like Iowas the way they have it.there all plenty of oppurtunities to get your deer.
 
the only thing i would change about iowa is to have check in stations after you harvest a deer and to do away with the late season anterless only
 
I also agree with Release Hunter,they could issue a free anterless tag for every so many bought until they deem the population is under control.Still use the quota
Livtahunt had a good one too.Check stations would be an awesome idea.
