impressive rubs

Last year on the last day of early muzzeloader season I hunted a stand on some relatives land. About dark a 130ish 9 point came out and rubbed a big cedar. I'm guessing it was about 8 inches across. A few moments later a 145" buck walked up and rubbed the same tree and I decided I'd better shoot him. He was a big animal and field dressed 230lbs.
The interesting part is that while gutting him with my uncle there, both of us talking only about 40 yards from that cedar, a spike walked up and started rubbing the same tree like he was king of the woods. He basicly ignored us. While the spike did rub it, he didnt do it hard enough to do near the damage the bigger bucks had.

It was very interesting to watch but the point for me was, little bucks will rub big trees but they probably dont do enough damage to impress you.

akwhttail. there's other nice rubs close but not on as big a tree's. most of the other ones i've seen are on rub lines. i may pick up another camera or two to help narrow down the trail's a few of these big boys use. i know where they bed, and where go to feed but really unsure how they get there.
