Input on some hunts you would like to see!!

Sarah and I are planning our hunts this year and we want to do hunts that are different than the same bowhunts you see on TV. We want to do hunts a little different than your typical way, Example: TeeJay and I were talking today about turkey hunting out of a blind; fun to do but boring as hell to watch on TV. We are going to do some turkey hunts this spring with NO blind. Put the camera man in a DB blind but the shooter just using great camo. We are talking with a buddy that is an expert at stalking mule deer and antelope and are working on a hunt with him; once again, fun to sit in a blind and shoot an antelope or muley with a bow, boring as hell to watch on TV. This type of in your face hunting is much harder and your success rate is lower but we feel it is more satisfying to watch than a kill out of a blind. I plan on doing some late season coyote calling and bowshooting as no one seems to be doing this. Another question; would you prefer watching a great rabbit bowhunt in the snow, carp bowfishing, other midwest hunts or a high fence ,game preserve 170-180 class deer hunt like you can see just about any day on TV? We sure appreciate your input!!
Thank you!!!
Last question; if it is suggested that we get into gun hunting(which I am not crazy about), I prefer to scratch all modern firearms and do black powder flintlock; more appealing to you?

I'd like to see a mature deer put to rest with a recurve or longbow....minus the preserve tactic.

Gun Hunting I would go with a flintlock pistol.
Also Bowhunting for Crocs or Alligators would be sweet.
Love the idea of spot and stalk but might get kind of boring as well waiting for the long stalk or you are going to have to do many hunts.

Spot and stalk turkeys is a blast.

I would have to Totally agree with the Longbow/Recurve. Would just like to see it take place in the Loess Hills of SW Iowa on Public Ground. Ya know...The kind of place that ya have to be Half-crazy and Full blooded Mountain goat to get into. Plus this would also offer a good scenario to maybe demonstrate how to properly quarter and backpack out a monster buck!

maybe some public land hunts.... and with the spot and stalks maybe for some blacktail or maybe even some couse deer just to change things up

I would buy a ((REAL WORLD)) video, its great to watch these guys go out on private farms that are professionally managed and take there pick of 6 Booner bucks in a 5 day hunt. Most are in stands that someone else scouted and hung.

But lets be real how many of us have that type of opportunity. Maybe I am the only one, but I consider myself lucky to even see few Booner's per season.

Also some real nuts and bolt's on scouting, hanging your stand how you came to harvesting this buck. Arial photos where you are, wind direction shown on aerial to see why your there, how you got the deer (calling, rattling, waiting). Why you are hunting that stands that day, how you approached and exited the stand without bumping deer. etc. etc.

Most videos are: "Here we are in Iowa, its Novemeber 7th there is a shooter,SMACK lets go get are hands on him".

Good to see you have a sense of humor! It's gonna be tough figuring out what hasn't been beaten to death.

Seriously though, pheasant or waterfowl on the wing with archery might tempt me, but I don't buy hunting videos as a rule.

-Calling and bowhunting coyotes from a treestand
-S.E. Nebraska bobcat hunt in December (I understand that bobcats are protected in Iowa...but not mountain lions!)

Waterfowl/Pheasant on wing with archery would be awesome.

Dont know how often you get out to South Dakota but some long range Prairie Dog black powder kills and maybe some Prairie dog kills with archery would be a nice segment. Should be pretty cheap to do and decent to watch.

Varmint hunts aswell with archery. I have several Randy Anderson coyote videos and the best parts are the archery hunts.

Carp with archery would be neat to watch specially if you were just on a bank sneaking along shooting them. From the big fan boats shooting Gar in the night looks like for a short while. Problem with archery fishing is you get very little preroll of the fish you actually shoot at.

The carp fishing and prairie dogs could be more of a spring summer type of hunt which would make your filming time a little more spaced out instead of all in the fall.

Please let us know if you use any ideas you get from the board.

How about some spear gun fishing down in the crystal clear waters of the Carribbean or of the Great Barrier Reef? Gettin' wet while having fun in the sun, can't beat that!

I still think one of the best hunts I watched was on the Double Bull video when they were hunting geese out of the blind. That would be cool with a long bow or recurve!
