Input on some hunts you would like to see!!

I agree with Whack-n Stack. A real nuts and bolts of how too hunting. Maybe show the kill first then take us back to why you chose the stand, trail cams, pre season scouting!? Just my opinion.

Ground blind archery hunting for deer. I opened a new chapter in my hunting this year with ground blind hunting out of the DB. Although I did not harvest a mature whitetail out of it (or this year yet!)the challenge and close encounters I had doing this was truley inspiring. I'm addicted for sure.

Do you guys every watch Tred Barta on Versus (formerly Outdoor Life Network)? He's done all kinds of stuff with a longbow ... ducks, geese, pheasants, rabbits, along with big game (incl. Kodiak bear!!!). He's a little over top but definitely entertaining.

I'd like to see do-it-yourself hunts out West for elk and mulies. Many of us can't afford to hire a guide, but we could load up and try it on our own with some encouragement that it can be done. Also include a little on how to pick a zone, applying for a permit, etc., though I know that makes for boring video too.

Good luck and keep us posted on what you decide to do.

I'm with threebeards on the do-it-yourself stuff. I'm not really down on outfitters, but the average blue-collar working hunter doesn't really have the money to hunt the way as portrayed in the videos.

The "pros" always show up on someone's doorstep, look at the trail cam photos that the outfitter shot, then hunt the stands the outfitter hung, only to harvest the deer on film.

Then we all know how the scenerio unfolds: the outfitter shows up with the truck and says "Yep, that's him. We've been watching him all summer!"

I'd rather whack a mature doe from my own scouting and from a stand I hung myself. Where's the sense of pride in killing a big buck on the first afternoon of a hunt that is paid for by sponsors and basically you just show up and pull the trigger?

One of the most exciting non-whitetail hunts I've seen on video was a guy who was bow hunting for grizzly bears from a treestand along a river in Alaska where the bears were coming to feed on the salmon. That hunt really captured your attention.

I think he is very entertaining to watch and really enjoy his hunts becuase he is happy shooting an animal not always a HUGE trophy. One of his best (IMO) is when he wanted to stalk coyotes. I dont think he does shoots one but its just a neat hunt.

The thing I like about Tred is that he shows you his goof ups as well as successes: doesn't edit for the "perfect" hunt.
