Interesting observation

Shredder

I thought this deer looked pretty rough on the first cam pic I got, closer inspection revealed an arrow coming out of the point of the left shoulder. I would not be a bit suprised to find him later this fall. Only time will tell.

they must have got zero penetration?? that is ugly, I would think an arrow in the shoulder would kill a deer but if it jammed in the first leg bone then it wouldn't have found vitals. He should be interesting to watch this summer

They've been known to live through worse. If this hunter waited for the rite shot that buck would be in the freezer.

Hard to say he didn't. It's hunting, lots of things happen between the release and the impact. It is unfortunate. Thanks for the pic.

Pretty amazing to get a pic like that Shredder! I've killed several deer over the years that had blades in their shoulder. It was just imbedded in bone and had scar tissue healed around it.

That's a rare picture for sure!

Hard to believe he is still alive and packing that arrow.

They are one tough critter! That is a one of a kind photo, it's amazing how they can overcome injury like that. Hope you get more pics of him as his rack develops to see if there are any effects on antler growth due to the injury. An injury to the left side should result in a deformity to the right side of his rack, right?
