Was just watching a cable show, North Woods Law,,I think the title. A show about Game wardens in Maine. They were after some hunters in a deer drive. Show said driving deer was illeagal in Maine. Said not only was it unethical, but also dangerous. Strange how what is a lawful in one state is unlawful in another. It is also unlawful to deer hunt on Sundays in Maine. Wonder what is up with that? A hold over from the Puritans?

I think there are actually a lot of states where you can't hunt on Sundays...mostly out in the northeast. I believe some areas of Canada had/have this as well.

I watch this show but it irritates me how everyone is a criminal until they find out otherwise.

I think Missouri has a Sunday rule for turkey hunting.

I am guessing that deer drives are illegal because they hunt with rifles? Would not be the safest thing to do. I found it interesting that you can get a "Night hunting coyote permit" for $4.

In Colorado it is illegal/unethical to muzzy hunt with sabot bullets. Until recently, In Michigan it was legal to bait deer with any amount of food. People would dump truck loads of bait. They can still bait, but now limit how much and then the rule only changed due to worry of diseases spreading, not ethics. Some state allow .22 cal centerfire rifles for deer hunting and 410 slugs. Others do not because they are considered too small to reliably and ethically take deer. So there are a lot of variations of what different states consider legal or ethical.

Yes,,speaking of MI, where I came from. Years ago, CrossBows were condemned, strict hoops to jump through even when they became legal for Handicapped. Now,,any plain Joe can hunt with one. What is accepted is up to the whim of humans at the time.
