I know a show promotor from Bismark, ND that tried one in Moosejaw that turned out to be a complete flop. Someheads came in and enough people but no exibitors, and thats where they make their money from.
All the "horn scoring nights" that get held around Sask and AB this time of the year are alot of fun. I've been to a couple of them in the past. But its these very same events that hurt the productivity of a bigger show. People feel that since they've already had their deer scored that they don't need to bring it to the major show. It works like this in Minnesota also, where we can have upwards of 20 small "deer shows" each spring. Deer get scored and entered in record books, but they never leave the local area for display, and this has hurt our deer classic big time.
