Iowa PF Habitat Meeting Coming to Des Moines

Des Moines, Iowa - - Iowa Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever will hold its annual State Habitat Meeting on Saturday, January 15th at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Des Moines. The all day event will feature seminars for landowners, conservationists and hunters interested in improving wildlife habitat in Iowa.

The Iowa Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever 2011 State Habitat Meeting will offer seminars from 9:30AM to 5PM. Visit the Pheasant and Quail Habitat Room for seminars, including:

* What Happened to Iowa Pheasants? and Building Back Iowa's Pheasant Population.
* Quail Habitat Research from Iowa -What is the Habitat Key?
* Building the "Perfect" Habitat - Examples of 40, 80, 160 Acre Habitat Projects.
* Step by Step Establishment of Native Grasses (A must if you have a new CRP contract!).
* Pheasant Stocking - Fact or Fantasy?
* Real Landowner Experiences - Hear Habitat Stories from People Who've Done It.

In addition to pheasants and quail, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about water resources and fish habitat, and forest and edge habitat for turkey and deer. Have a wildlife habitat question and not sure where to go with it? Look no further. Bring your specific questions or problems to the "Habitat Help Desk" at the meeting to consult with a trained Pheasants Forever Farm Bill Wildlife Biologist.

"Without a doubt, this is the most comprehensive habitat seminar lineup we've had for this annual event," says Tom Fuller, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Regional Representative in Eastern Iowa, "Iowa's upland bird habitat has been hit hard in recent years; this day offers the right habitat information so we can start hitting back."

The Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever State Habitat Meeting will be held on the second floor at the Downtown Marriot, located at 700 Grand Avenue in Des Moines. Registration for the event is $10.
