Iowa Turkeys

I went out to mechanicsville to pick up my new gun dog yesterday. I saw a ton of turkeys. Not like we see them in IL. Gets me pumped for spring.

I am so pumped for this season my Elite bow is on its way and i just got my new arrows in yesterday and i could help but go out and look at some turkeys on the ground i have permission for. CAN NOT WAIT!!!

I think we're possibly seeing more this year since they have to work harder to get food. I'm hoping this harsh winter doesn't have too much of a negative impact on the population (of deer & turkey). I know of one spot where a nice tom stands in the ditch next to a fairly busy road & watch the cars go by almost every day. Probably because that's the only place that isn't covered by 4 feet of snow.
