[/ QUOTE ] Heaviest black bear weighed in the 850 lb range and I believe it was shot in North Carolina by Dolly Partons cousin about 8 or 9 years ago. (unless a bigger one has been taken) I got a 500 lber 6 years ago. They are not uncommon especially in Canada. That is a good looking bear though. Anybody would love to take one like that.
