The quote below was a post listed further down in the above link and I think is right on target. I am frustrated by what Mr. Houston did also, but Mr. Preston is absolutely correct in his statement of where the real problems lie. Please read below:

I'm writing to ask the people coming to this sight to please get past what happened at Bellar's Place and focus on the real issue, commercialized wildlife. Jimmy made a mistake, has apologized and remains an important person in promoting conservation in this country.
I'm a life long hunter and let me assure you this isn't PETA stuff. This is all of us allowing the commercialization of wildlife to put our wildlife and our hunting heritage at risk. There are currently an estimated 8,000 captive facilities in this country, many spreading economically devastating disease and bad ethics. We have the most successful wildlife management model in the world and it’s based on wildlife being a public resource managed by sound science. Raising deer as “livestock" to be shot in pens, regardless of the size, violates the very essence of what our conservation forefathers set-up for us.
I would encourage folks to re-direct your energies to contacting your State representatives and letting them know what you think about the industry. Jimmy Houston isn't the demon here, but there are 8,000 demons out there. Let’s focus on them and actually help the wildlife we all keep saying we care about."
I thought this statement was excellent.
