They were each assessed 80 hours of community service.
 
Is there some way to file a complaint about the way this is being handled? If I had done this they would have taken my weapon, vehicle, and probably fined me at least 30 times more than they did this group of kids. When I was in school about 12 years ago there was a kid in my class that was sent to a detention center by a judge for a crime much less than this. Why not send these kids to a detention center for a month and show them what it is like, that may get there attention. The only thing that the current punishment is going to do is teach the kids to be better poachers. treat all criminals the same, this doesn't send the right message. they through the book at out of state poachers, why are they holding back in this case?
 
The game wardens did their job on this case and I thank them for that. I know most of them as this happened in my area. The county attorney is the one who prosicutes the case once charges are filed. They have the power to reduce charges and plead stuff out at their discretion. Any law enforcement officer will tell you this happens all the time.
 
I understand that stuff like this happens all of the time, but that is bull****. The law is the law and we should have a voice in this type of stuff. If the law is that flexible then the penalty should be lowered for everyone, not just certain individuals.
