Keeping bleat can quiet?

Last year I bought a bleat can. I carry it in my kit bag. Yesterday, the dang thing bleated twice while I was moving things around in the stand. I thought of trying to tape over the ends but figured that it would wind up a sticky mess eventually with all the tape residue. How do you keep these dang things quiet? I'm tempted to leave it at home!

I used to have one with a plastic top on it that you took off once you got into your stand.

Bought a new one last weekend...no cover, but it has a hole on the bottom that you have to cover up to make the bleats. Haven't tried it out yet but didn't think they were supposed to make any noise unless that hole gets covered up???

i have two that came with a rubber top to put on the noise chamber side. that keeps it quiet, i only need one, ill send you one of you want! it helps!

Glad you got it taken care of.

Mine is a Primos that has a hole in the bottom as well to make sure it doesn't go off. To make the noise you cover the bottom with your finger.

My can came with a removable piece of tape for covering the single small hole on the opposite side of the several holes. After having the same problem and tape losing its stick-em I just removed the tape and now I just put my finger over the hole when I filp it over for making bleats...all the rest of the time its not covered.

Every once in a while it will tip over and make a noise like those old whistles that have a plunger on them and WHEWWWWT-DUPE.

OK, so I dug through the bag when I got home tonight and saw that I left the piece of tape over the hole. Should have removed it! Live and learn. Thanks for pointing out the obvious.

What type of can call is everyone using? I had the lil can and I think it's the big can also that makes the doe in estrous bleat.
Can't say I've had that much luck with them.
Did take a doe with the lil can that make the doe bleat two years ago.
