Could it be that the angle of both pictures misrepresent the length of the G2's?

That is what I am seeing also possibly. Could always be two different bucks, she shot the second one if so.

I believe the two trail cam pics are two different deer and i would say she shot the one in the first trail cam pic. The body of the deer in the second pic is way smaller. I would say the old man's offspring

Awesome deer and congratulations to her. Looking at the photos, I agree that she shot the deer from the Saturday photo. Looking at the first photo, the coloration around the left eye is different in my opinion from the second photo. The G2 on the right beam is significantly longer on the first photo IMO also. Good luck getting him!
