I witnessed a similar incident a couple weeks ago like the one that started this post. There are 2 neighbor boys down the road about a mile and the older one (13) drives an old lawn mower towing a small garden trailer with his little 6 year old brother in it up and down the road a couple times a week and are usually just out having fun. That night the older brother was literally screaming F bombs and calling his little brother (who has a disability) every name in the book over and over and over right in front of my house and telling him he was going to beat the chit out of him if he didn't stop crying. As soon as my wife could take my son out of my hands I got in the truck and went to confront this little bully.

I asked him if there was a problem and why was he screaming at his brother. The kid said "you got a problem with how I talk to my brother" and I said yes I do and God help me he said "what the F are you going to do about it". It was all I could do to not backhand him. I asked him a few more questions and his attitude continued and I said I was going to talk to his dad. He said "fine, do whatever you want, he won't do anything to me".

So I went to have a chat with his old man. When I told him about how is son was acting he said "yep, that sounds like him" and kind of chuckled, but thanked me for being concerned. Yeah, whatever. Nice job being a dad. I haven't seen them on their mower since that night, so maybe something did happen, who knows. It's just sad.

So let me get this strait guys. At no time in any of your juvenile lives you ever smacked a girl on the butt??? Last time i checked thats far from Sexual assault. Funny this subject came up. I thought about this last week.

Kids up here are just as bad, and unlike the states even back when, kids here never were taught Mam, and sir.

Last week I was visiting a landowner, and had brought a bag of candy for his little girl and boy that my wife had sent along, their about 8 and 12 years old. We know the family well, and usually bring the kids a treat. So me and their dad Sat at the table talking when they came over, I reached back and gave it to them, and both, almost in unison they said "thank you sir"...then get this, the older girl came back out 15 minutes later with a note for my wife, "Dear Mrs. I'd like to say thank you for the candies you sent for me and my brother, it was very kind, I hope you have a good day"

In this day and age, where kids think there above adults, the law, and just plain ethical behaviour, it sure was nice to see two little gaffers being raised up right.

Dude was an adult, 18+, and his daughter was 12. 6 of the guys that basically took turns boot stomping the fathers head into the pavement were over 18 and one was a juvinille. They are still looking for one more suspect.

An 18 year old "man" (i use the term loosely) has no right to touch anyone else withouth thier permission, especially a 12 year old child. I would have probally been in jail or dead if that was my child. That's the only way i could see that senario ending for me.

You've got a good point there, but no, at 18 years old, I did not hit on 12 yr olds. Crap, shes a little girl. If she was 16, 17 and he was 18, wouldnt make it right, but atleast it wouldnt be so bad.

I think a full functioning farm (detassel corn, walk beans...not RR beans either ORGANIC no-till, hogs, sheep, cows, chickens, turkeys, ducks, scooping cattle and hog lots with a shovel, bailing hay and straw, feeding, watering, shearing, docking, butchering...the whole nine yards) as a boot camp, used the right way, could easily straighten these little punks right up.

My parents divorced when I was 5 and mom had to work to support me and my bro. She took us to our Uncle's farm to be watched...my uncle said there weren't going to be any boys on the farm that are being BABY-sat, they're going to be put to work...and we did everything i described above. When I see or hear about how disrespectful kids can be I thank god for my uncle's farm.

Take one of them "I'm so tough" punks and put him in the middle of a pasture with 3 or 4 sows in heat and turn the boar stud loose...he'll find out real quick he isn't so tough.

I like it....

You will see very few if any kids act like that if they were brought up on or around a farm. I too am grateful for my grandpas farm and teaching me how to really work and appreciate not having everything handed to me.
