kill on film

Got my first bow kill on film tuesday afternoon, It was just a slickhead but still the rush of gettin it on film was awesome. She was almost straight under me when i shot and man am i hooked on rage now. I used rage last year but never got a shot on a deer. I've ate my buck tag for 3 years now due to no c'n a shooter. What do yaw folks consider a shooter? In my case it's a 140 or bigger. I've killed 2 bucks with my bow one wwas when i was 15 and it was my first deer, he was a small 9pt and my biggest was a 120 8pt killed in 2008. now i won't pick my bow up for one under 140. But here wer i hunt it doesn't do me any good passing small bucks cause the next person comes along and shoots them. i got one farm that i hunt and pass 4 or 5 bucks a year up on but have never saw a shooter there does anyone know what the deal is? I only hunt it when it's planted in beans so every 2 years. well 2 years ago i hunted and every time in the stand we video'd 3 4 pointers. well we passed them deer and i did not hunt last year cause it was corn. Might have hunted a few times after corn was picked. Well this year all i've saw it 3 6 pts. D you think these are the same deer or what? It gets quiet a bit of pressure in rifle season but none in bow season. It's 15 acres of beans and prolly 90 acres of cut over timber. Im talking thick, you can't find a tree to hang a stand in, in the timber. You can gun hunt it off the ground but you would only have maybe 10 yard shot. I'm talkin saw briars out the butt it's bad. Do you think i should go in there before gun season and try to find a somewhat open area and hunt when the rut kicks in and everybody is running the fields? O i forgot there is a gasline that runs through the property as well but fourwheelers run up and down it heavy in gun season. If anyone have any help it would be greatly appreciated. I'm hooked on filming my hunts now, we've filmed alot but never got a kill on film. Thanks fellas

I'd say you don't see any bigger bucks than the dinks because all the guys that rifle hunt it probably kill everything. It sounds like a good area to find a small clearing and build a groundblind.

i can try to post the video but it's not much cause my cousin didn't charge the camera so we didn't turn it on till she was 20 yards away so the video isn't but like 20 seconds long. I'll try to have more video's this year though i'm addicted now haha. Yea i agree with you, everybody shooting the small bucks not giving them a chance to reach full potential. I will have a good farm leased next year if it's the death of me haha. And if i get a farm and any of you fellas that would want to come bow hunt here in western,ky when i get a lease i would be more than happy to take someone, if they have land in Iowa and would take me for a hunt on their land if i get drawn for a tag. Can i put in for archery and muzzleloader? that way i'd have a chance at gettin drawn for one or the other? Whats the average wait on a muzzleloader tag? i'd rather bow hunt but it i could get drawn faster for a muzzleloader tag i'd do that, unless i could put in for both of them. I don't care if i have to hunt public land there it would be worth every bit of time spent there just to experience the hhunting there. Be something different than here in Western,ky since it's the only place i've ever hunted. I can't get any of my hunting buddies to take trips with me to other places turkey, duck, and goose and deer hunting. All my buddies are tight wads and won't spend any money. BUt i sure don't care to haha
