As with anything in life, practice makes perfect. It took me butchering a couple el cheapo pocket knives before I got the hang of it. Now I can put a better than new edge on just about anything.
When I want a really sharp knife, as in razor sharp I like to use a piece of glass, Aluminum Oxide, and a drop or two of dish soap. You can shave with your new blade!
Aluminum Oxide can be purchased at most pharmacies.
been using the Lansky and leather strop for a few years and works great but time consuming. I like the look of the paper wheel, got a brand new grinder in the shop too!
