Well as many of the PMA guys know me and Muddy had some great history with a particular buck that we named Kong that began in 2005. We discovered this deer late that year and did not have the opprotunity to hunt him as season was over, however we were privledged enough to catch him on film several times. He was obviously king of the area as we watched several other good bucks during January and February rome around him a bit but when he wanted his space he got exactly that. Well after finding some sheds from Kong and having the landowner hand us another one from 2003 we continued to gain more and more knowledge of the deer and finally access to hunt the ground we had seen him on the following year. Anyhow, I don't want to give to much of the story if you want the rest you will have to join the PMA
. However, I was able to harvest the 160"+ 8 pointer the second to last day of season, and today the Tale of Kong came full circle when I brought him home from the Taxidermist. I want to thank Durk Sterner (Stuffy) for the incredible job he did on Kong. I was a bit nervous as I picked a completely new form for the mount, a sneak with the chin in the upright position. Don't know why I was nervous as Durk always has produced awesome mounts and he did it once again with Kong, thanks again bud
