Saw in the paper awhile back that the DNR is considering allowing antlerless bowhunting in the Lacey Keosauqua State Park. I've talked to some people who were at the meeting...all kinds of pros and cons of course.
Been hearing some guys who say the DNR must be crazy if they think they are going to actually shoot does in there. Apparantly they figure they can just drag em (bucks) out the back way, across the fence...whatever.
Seems like it would be better to have a system like Ottumwa city limits where killing -x-# of does rewards one with a chance at a buck lottery the next year, but as I understand it, that option will not be offered.
How many would bowhunt just for does...I mean would you give up being able to take a buck on private or public land...just to hunt does?
I have no doubt that people will hunt there although thier motives may a little different then hoped for
NR's are still buying land around my area like it's going out of style! Some fairly large acerage's which they then fence and gate...all of it used to be hunted by large groups...different subject I know, but soon many people may have no choice...either hunt does or don't hunt.
