Land for Sale?

how do you know its not a paid advertisement? no need to start bitching without having all the facts.

even if its not, who cares. its chris's site, he can do as he pleases. if if bugs you, don't go to the home page

I fail to see how land for sale is going to turn hunting into a leisure activity for only the rich. It is an investment you can enjoy while earning a decent and safe return. Try that with a stock certificate. Land is still surprisingly affordable in southern Iowa.

Just for the record ... I own the land and thought I would save brokerage fees by posting it here rather than list it with a realtor(sorry Ironwood

). I'm looking to sell because I have my eye on a few pieces much closer to home.

Sorry if I offended anyone, all I can say that we have no plans of turning Iowawhitetail into a brokerage house for hunting land.

I for one am pretty darn upset about this! UPSET...that I can't afford that much land!

I see nothing wrong with it. I didn't think twice about it when I logged on.

I personaly see no problem with it,just wish I could afford it.I've heard through the grapevine there might be a couple of big buck's down that way, just don't tell everybody.

When you build a site shouldn't you be able to as you please.

I don't see a problem with it either....except those rediculously high land prices down south.

I was not going to do this but I changed my mind.I am looking for a quality farm in iowa and am 100% serious about it.I have met some good people in my search and hats off to you all.If I were to buy a farm there and you are my neighbor you will not have to worry about some clown moving in.I have managed my own farm in maryland and want to do it on a bigger and better scale in iowa.I have learned from my mistakes and do not wish to repeat them.I subscribe to qdm and really am looking to create a quailty hunting situation for myself and someone I can trust.I feel neighbors are as important as the deer themselves and maybe more so.I am a regular guy who has decided to make a dedicated change in his life.Any help that anyone can give me can be returned in the future in some way.I dont want to waste anyones time but if there is ground that can be bought I would love to know about it and maybe look at it and strike up a deal.I had a property in davis county under contract and without
going into the details it fell through..by no fault of my own.I was really sick over the whole thing but found out how nice it is out there.Once again thanks to the landowners and people of iowa for being so nice.

I see that Chris sold his farm. Congratulations!! Without going into detail is the buyer a resident or NR?

God forbid it sells to a NR, I thought that was taboo. I bet an NR buys the farm, not a resident.

[/ QUOTE ] Speaking for myself, I don't have a high enough paying job to fork out a 1/4 million or more for land to hunt. If I did I'd be looking at that one today. No I'm not too crazy about everything going to a NR but it makes no difference to me land I can't hunt is land I can't hunt no matter who owns it.

Having witnessed the behavior of some of the local yokels, I can guarantee that if a NR buys the land, it will be hunted by some unethical residents regardless...

Looks like I am eating my words, however, maybe we can also blame residents for the "upward" trend in real estate values.

Or we could just blame inflation, the economy, supply and demand, or the desire for some guy to have a place to hunt. Same thing is happening every where, its not just Iowa. You could spend alot more per acre in another state and still not have half the deer hunting.

Fred's right,it's a supply and demand world.Land is high all over the state right now even timber price's are way up because someone is alway's wanting there little piece to build a house in.
If I had the money I to would be looking for hunting/building a house property.
