Hello from eastern Iowa!

I am looking at some property that is near the Lansing Wildlife Management area. I have never hunted in NE Iowa and I wonder if any of you can tell me how the hunting is there?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the responses. I had the same impression when I went there earlier this wek, bt I wasn't able to see a lot of the place. Thanks again for the help!

:DAllmakee cnty is one of the top trophy producers in the state!! Lotta timber, lotta hills! But the payoff can be big!! And I was born there!! :way: I would'nt let it scare you off!!!!

I wouldn't be afraid of poor hunting. Like was said, Allamkee county ranks right up there. I am just across the river, and have seen pics of 2 deer within a 20 mile radius flirting with 200". The hills are tough to hunt, but like anything else, I'm sure it just takes practice.

I live in Allamakee and know for a fact several bucks over 150 get taken off of that state ground each year.

Very steep and hard to hunt.

Wind very tough to determine bouncing off everywhere.

Becoming more and more crowded every year. Not a 150" behind
every tree.

Hunted that area right before it became state land.
