It has been one heck of a year capped off with my lil bro tagging his first Wisconsin turkey!
After an unsucessful early morning set-up, we decided to run-and-gun. This jake gobbled once and showed up ten minutes later. A single shot from Joel and it was all over.
We hunted hard for another day and a half in high winds and even a torrential downpour and thunder & lightning storm at one time, but couldn't fill my tag.
We actually had a pack of 5 longbeards 100 yards out both mornings, but just wouldn't come any closer. Oh well, still had a great time with a couple buddies I only get to see a couple times a year. Plus completed one of my best turkey seasons ever as I was a part of around a dozen turkey's deaths this spring!
