As I think everyone in Iowa who went late season muzzleloading knows about the extra snowy conditions. Early one morning it was really foggy and very windy. As the sleet blew down, I was sneaking into a timber through a field when a doe popped up over a terrece about 60 yards out. I was able to get to a knee she looked at me but couldnt pick me off. Following her was a herd of about 10 other does. They all came over looked at me but then casually began eating and walking away. Finally this 8 pointer popped over the terrece. I couldnt get a real good look at his rack because the fog was so dense but it looked fairly wide. He was looking straight at me and I hit him through the throat. Ran about 30 yards and hit the ground. In hind sight I was thinking that he might not of been the only buck in the group, and I fired a little prematurely. Overall though I think he is a pretty solid buck. He had a nice coat and since I got him in the throat I decided to have the taxidermis make me a rug. http://iowawhitetail.com/forum/album.php?albumid=282&pictureid=2759 http://iowawhitetail.com/forum/album.php?albumid=282&pictureid=2761
