I have a PH Outdoors (Genesis) 5' model. I can make it work with a 40HP, but my new 60HP is definitely better suited to handle it well. If you are doing a modest number of acres AND not a lot of sloped ground, I am pretty sure you can make the 40HP work fine...just check your specific tractor specs and evaluate them in light of the weight of the drill, when FILLED.Are the Genesis drills and the PH ones virtually the same? Is one better for one reason or another? What about landpride or great plains ?
I have an L3901 Kubota (39hp) and looking into 3pt drills. Any thoughts? Want one that you can run everything from switchgrass to beans through
There is a thread somewhere that talks about the M series. It's got a cultipacker rear on it instead of packer wheels and no gearbox, which I've been told that's the best part of the G series. The gearbox fine tunes seed rate as you speed up or slow down.Old thread but.. has anyone seen the new PH Outdoors M5 drill? More cost effective option at $9k. Can put suitcase weights on them for harder ground.
Supposedly are making a M8 as well in the next 12 months.
