i have been seeing the bigger bucks moving in the woods at about 5 pm on most days and the does not comming out until about 6 pm and they seem to be in their feeding pattern i'm starting to see more and more rubs and haven't seen that many scrapes yet. what has everybody else noticed ?

the ground that was hit by youth hunting seems to be completely nocturnal right now. In other pieces that have not had any youth pressure I have been seeing both bucks and does around the last hour of shooting light.I have not noticed a lot of rubs or scrapes yet, just a few here and there.

Have seen very few rubs scrapes. Except one 2 acre patch of dense woods surrounded by brush and corn was dotted with scrapes/ rubs every 20-30 yards around perimeter of woods. Unfortunatley I was just passing by I dont have permission to hunt that spot. It must of been Home base for a decent Buck....

The more pressured areas I have not seen much of anything. I have only seen one buck in my area(that story to follow once I tag him). I did see him make a scrape and go nose down to the doe. In a less pressured area, scrapes and rubs.

I can't find the does. Last night we had 6 bucks in front of us. Mostly forkies, 5 and 7 pointers. Did have a nice 8-point about 30 yards out. Got some trail cam photos of a nice 10-point making a scrape. Some sparring going on. Can't wait for the next 2 or 3 weeks !

After my first night out last week I decided I needed to adjust my stand by moving it 180 degrees on the tree. When I went out the following afternoon I noted roughly five or six smaller perimeter scrapes along a bedding area and a larger (2 1/2+ foot) scrape about 20 yards to the left of my stand. A rub line has also been started along the trails I'm hunting. I will not hunt this stand again for about another week and a half or more. It's a pretty isolated area and I still have two other pieces of land to hit first.

SAME AS 150. LOTS OF DOES AND FEW BUCKS. HAD ONE NICE ONE SAT EVENING AT 60 YARDS BUT HE WOULDN'T CLEAR THE BRUSH FOR A SHOT THEN SAW ANOTHER DANDY IN THE OPEN LAST NIGHT COMING OUT OF THE FIELD.

I have been driving around some honey holes where I always see alot of deer. 95% of what I see is around acorns they seem to be hitting the oaks pretty hard and have been for a few weeks if you have a good oak stand in your area you might want to check....

Four cameras and 300 pictures and only one buck during legal shooting light. Lot's of night time buck pictures taken last week. The scrapes were being hit during the cold snap but went real cold with the warmer weather. In about a week and a half with some colder temps the scrapes should blow wide open.

IMO - The majority of the mature bucks are laid up right now conserving energy and putting on some fat for the rut.

I agree Ghost. I saw my first booner of the year the other night but it was after shooting light. He was filling his gut with fresh picked beans. The sight of his rack on the western skyline is one image I won't forget. There were does all over the field and his mind was on "storing-up" for things to come.
