lighted nocks

I was just wondering if anyone has every tried the nocks that light up when you shoot them. I moved about a half an hour away for school this year so I'm going to be doing most of my hunting at night instead of in the morning, and I thought these might come in handy. thanks all

Yep, I have used them and they work great. Only negative thing about them is the cost. But, I shoot $140 a dozen A/C/C arrows so it helps prevent losing one.

well my arrows are only about 70 bucks a dozen, and i dont want to lose them.......but then again i dont miss.

they work well, but if you want to go to youtube and type in lighted knocks and there should pop a thing on how to make your own.. Its not too hard and saves a couple bucks.

The you tube thread is nice if you can find Thill bobbers that are the press type.
From what I read Luminok had a lawsuit against Thill and now all I can see that you can buy is the twist type

Yeah, they made it possible for me to see the exact flight path of my arrow when it missed the biggest buck I've ever seen in my life 2 years ago. That was fun.

I just found the Thill lights on Cabelas web site, but I'm not sure if these are push pull or twist on off. Does anyone know? I sent the question to their customer service dept, but I thought someone here might know.

I have heard that they are heavier, so it may make a difference when sighting in. They are cool.

I have a buddy that uses them and they shot completely different than what his normal nocks shot...I think he said they were heavier too...

I think consistency is the key. If you have all the nocks the same and you are shooting groups, they do make for a sweet looking shot on video!

I used them for the first time last year and they are pretty cool. I shot a doe at about thirty yards at the last minuets of shooting time. It looked like I shot her with a laser beam. One word, AWESOME!

They also shot excactly the same as my other nocks for my set-up.

if your going to build your own you need to go to lindy's website they carry the push pull lights.... i bought a bunch and half of them dont work. my opinion is if you want lighted nocks just buy them already done

I make my own and they are awesome! Took some practice but once you get it down its easy. They are heavier and take some tuning and adjusting of the sights. I just used the ones I ruined/broke as target and practice ones. Good luck,
Jordan

I shot them last year and will be buying some this year too. Love to watch that nock disapear through the deer.

I happen to like the "twist" type thills better. I used the instructions found here on IW. I used old knocks, trimed them down to glue the base of the light to the inside of my arrow. I drilled a verly small whole through my knock so I could glue the twist portion to the knock. I fletched my arrows that I can shot without the lighted knock or with a small twist of the arrow I can shot a lighted knock. The thill lights/battery really aren't that heavy, nor is an 1/8" piece of knock.
