Lone Wolf Stand Question

Seems like I'm all about the LW questions lately but I have another. Regarding the hang-on stands, do you guys take the padded seat with you or leave it on the stand? For those that leave it, how do they do with getting wet and/or staying wet? They just look like a whole different animal than any stand seat I've used before.

Personally I never leave my Lone Wolf in the tree.

I have left it overnight in the rain once and the seat was fine then next day.

I dont recall having "Wet Butt Syndome" that day!! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I leave the cushion on the stand, flip it up, but not so high that it hits the tree. I have found that if it hits the tree it absorbs the moisture like a sponge when it rains, this goes for gorilla seats as well.

Good thinking.

I generally leave my seat down. I have 2 stands that I usually put up in early September in my core late pre-rut, rut area and I do not take them down until the first milder weather day in late December.

I find that the foam on the lone wolf has a sort of film over it so it does not absorb water readily on the surface ... however the edge is untreated so if left up on end it seems to absorb water more. I have always been concerned that the squirrels might chew up my foam as they have done on previous brand stands with vinyl covered seats, but I have to date not had any trouble with squirrel damage.
