Lone Wolf Users

This will be my first season hunting out of my new Lone Wolf Tree Stand. I was considering buying a head lamp for light when I set it up in the dark in the morning. Do you experienced lone wolf users use a head lamp and if so, is there any particular models that are better than others?

I use one that has the red and white lamp, and pretty much only use the red lamp. The red light works great and puts off just enough light to get it done without shining the whole timber as you move up and down the tree like you would with a white light. If the moon is shining you can do it without the lamp...it really is a snap to set up and once you do it a few times, you can probably do it without a light at all.

Petzel Tikka is what I use. Heard about it here.

Yep, those Tikka's are just the ticket. Small in size, but put out more than enought light, and LEDs will last a long, long time.

I think you'll really like LW stand.

I second what shoot2kill said, practice a few times and you won't need a light, except on the darkest mornings...

Depending on the darkness, I will use a light just to make sure I have everything set correctly (cams closed completely, both loops properly installed on the versi-button, etc..). I'm also to set-up much quieter when using a light. I'd rather use a light and be silent than not use one and make a single "clink"....

green clip on stream light works great. walked up on two yote`s last fall fighting over a fresh kill they didnt even know i was there.

I went to the Petzel link. What model do you guys prefer? Is the cheaper one fine or did you spend the extra 20+ bucks?
