203ntyp

I have visited iowawhitetail several times a week for over a year now & thought it was time to join in. This is by far the best whitetail deer site I've found. Though I never had the privilage to hunt Iowa, I am a true fanatic when it comes to hunting trophy whitetails.
I did manage to hunt Saskatchawan a couple of times & Illinois the past two seasons. Last year was unbelievable, I arrowed a huge buck in Illinois that gross scored 203 ntyp (hense my log on) on the Pope & Young scale.
Being from Pennsylvania I was not accustom to seeing the quality & numbers of deer as I did in your neck of the woods. Hopefully our state is heading in the right dirrection with antler restrictions but I don't believe that's the answer. It takes disaplined sportsmen like yourselves to know what a 3 or 4 1/2 year old deer looks like. I dont' see that happening in my neck of the woods, too many itchy trigger fingers. There are some really good bucks taken on occasion here but only a few a year. If I figure out how to post some pictures I will at a later time.
Soon time to shed hunt, can't wait!
