November 10th is a special day in the deer woods - over 25 years ago I harvested my very first deer a 120" 10pt with my old sightless Darton bow on this day. Here I sit with my 11 yo son - awaiting sunrise in anticipation of his first deer with a bow. (On a side note lick creek blinds are awesome for this!!!!)

This is the first year since that un forgetful morning that I will likely not bowhunt - willing replaced with my kids sporting activities and now an occasional trip with my oldest son that has recently picked back up interest in bowhunting :). Hoping we see this later this morning ...

Last year on Nov 10 I was lucky enough to get a great buck around the noon hour ... Here is some video I took of the buck earlier in the week.

Joe Meder did a fantastic job!

On a side note one lesson I've learned over the years is to be very picky when it comes to choosing your taxidermist and there are very few high quality taxidermists. Picks wisely and my suggestion would be to directly to the best of the best - Joe Meder!!

I had a similar reflection last night sitting with Owen with his bow in his lap me as the observer, coach, father enjoying that special magic of November that we love. Good times enjoy!

Good luck you two! I'm impressed with your memory of the date you got your first! I'm not even completely sure of the year I started hunting.
