I'm looking to see if anyone on this forum would like to hunt some land with me. I'm used to having hunting buddies but just recently moved to IA and do not know a single sole. Unfortunately at this point in time I am leaning towards public hunting, but was just curious I anyone else was in the same boat as I am. It's fun to have someone to scout with, hang stands, or just pick out some hot spots.

Im from eastern iowa and started getting back into bowhunting this past year. I have access to some prime jackson county land. But this past year my wife and i bought a fixer up house. Beings as she was pregnant and working on the house i opted to hunt some public land close to home. And to tell you the truth i feel people over look public land. If you dont have any luck finding a partner, dont be afraid to put in some time on public.
I agree I think some public land is actually pretty nice. However the issue is finding a spot with limited hunting pressure. The wma's are nice large acreage parcels but the often are packed and have a bunch of people walking through on you. I have found a few spots off the radar that look promising but private would be great. Do you do any hunting in Clinton county?
