Looking to buy a video camera

Guys I'm looking to buy a video camera that would be a good beginner camera to video hunts and my family activities. I can't afford the high end cameras. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Canon GL2 is a great beginner and entry level camera, I really like mine. I haven't dealt with the Sony PD170 or PD150 but I have heard good things about these cameras. I just purchased a new Sony and it seems to be a really solid camera. Only downfall with the Sony is the 12x zoom vs Canon 20x, however you will have better low light footage with the Sonys

We just ordered a canon vixia hv40, im currently waiting for the delivery man to stop by. b&h photo video along with campbell cameras have them new for $649. Not bad for a HD camera.

Take a look at a Kodak Z18 model. It's HD and takes what I thought was awesome video, especially for the price. Around 180 bucks or less. It's small and light, easy to mount on a bow or gun. If your looking for an entry level camera I don't think you can go wrong with it. Here's a youtube link to a video I made.
