Lost my long time buddy today

My good buddy and friend of 11 years died today despite efforts to save him over the last several weeks. I could tell he was having issues but was unable to straighten them out with meds I was using. My Black Lab Bo I think is irreplaceable by any other dog out there that I will ever own in the future. Despite playing with him 1/2 the time and beating his a$$ the other half (he was a LAB) he was as loyal as they come. Some of the memories I have with him are just priceless...I am going to miss that poor fella. It has just crushed my daughter as I knew it would.
 
Sorry to hear about Bo. I'm in a similar situation, an 11.5 yr old lab and a 3.5 yr old daughter. Its gonna get ugly one of these days.
Pups are good medicine.

Sorry to hear that Ryan...if anything ever were to happen to our Golden retriever our whole family would be devastated. You can't put a price on memories for sure.
 
I feel for ya. I'm in a similar situation with an 11 year old shorthair. Queen and I have bagged a bunch of birds together, but she's struggling. Pretty sure she's pointed her last bird, but the kids and I were hoping she'd be able to just "hang around" for a couple more years...too early to tell.

Sorry for your loss,, all of us dog owners certainly can relate.. You know of course the best cure for loosing an old friend is a new puppy.. Time to start building new memories and keeping the old ones. We lost our Maggie a year ago last Nov. (14 year old Springer) Doc joined us a year ago this month,,(Another Springer) What a knot head, but I wouldn't trade him for a new bass boat.

I'm sorry to hear that Ryan. That sucks all the way around. I'm kind of in the same situation right now with my German Shorthair/Chocolate Lab mix. She will be thirteen years old this October and I am dreading this same situation. Best forty bucks I ever spent.

I always get a little choked up on threads like this. Most of us know exactly what you are going through. It's tough.
