Low movement of bucks? And apple trees

Whats everyone seeing as far as daylight activity with bucks in central to southern iowa?

My cameras are mainly getting night time activity.

Also what's the best appletree that matures and drops apples in november?

Calm before the storm right now. We aren't getting much daylight action either right now. I am fairly certain it is related to the high temps. I think I am going to sit on Wednesday this week though. Even though it is only going to be 10-12 degrees cooler, combined with the "calendar", it just might be enough to get some bucks up on their feet before dark.

It’s been a while….Granny Smith I believe is one.

Arkansas black is a good apple tree for November. You’ll need a couple other types of apples to pollinate tho since it’s a triploid so it won’t pollinate anything but can receive pollen.

Spot on Daver. I don't hunt until after October 20th, they will be cruising during the mornings for sure. Last week of October is my favorite!
It just hit me...I think a wide area of Southern Iowa got some rain this morning...something that basically hasn't happened much, or at all, in the past several weeks. I suspect that even though it is still relatively warm today that bucks will be eager to open up scrapes if there is finally some damp soil to work with.

Dryest fall I can ever remember.

Warmest October I remember.

I haven't deer hunted a single time. That hasn't happened since I started deer hunting over 20 years ago.

And now the deer are dying left and right.

All a bummer for sure. That being said, so much to be grateful for. Can never lose sight of that.

Good luck everyone!!!

Well it hit a lot of it but per usual decided to skip me. It's insane how wet it gets just a couple miles away. My parents have puddles in their driveway 2 days later while I'm eating dust.
