Luminock Question

Any one using the Luminock? How well do you like it? Any troubles with them? I have wondered if they are just a gimmeck, but after having a couple hunts this past fall where in the excitement, I lost the spot where I shot the deer and had a hard time finding my arrow, wondered if they would be the way to go, and worth the money.

I shoot them on all my hunting arrows. Will never be without them again. Have never had a problem with them and make it so much easier to see and recover your arrow. I would definatley reccommend them.

I have paid for them about twice with the arrows that I have recovered because of them. I pull them out during the off season and shoot pin nocks then back in once season starts. I would recommend them.

There is a new lighted nock out from Easton called the Tracer that is going to blow away the Luminock sales. (Tracers have been around for a long time but were big and heavy and very expensive - Easton lightened 'em up, made them better and dropped the price) No more worries about fit and having to pull them out of the shaft to turn them off. A very small magnet is stuck to your riser and the magnetic field is used to turn them on and off. The are on solid for a while and then switch to a blinking light that lasts for days. Then you just wave them over the magnet to turn them off. You can even turn them completely off so there is no chance of them getting activated if you want. About the same price as a Luminock and a little bit lighter weight (actually cheaper because 2 and 4 packs come with free matched weight practice nocks also) I will definitely be using them myself this spring chasing turkeys to give them a full field test.

Thanks for the input guys. You swayed me and I will be looking into the Luminock or the tracers for sure.
Thanks again.

I've used Lumenock's for two seasons now. I have yet to lose an arrow, and I know of one this year that I probably would have had to give up on if it hadn't been for the lighted nock.

The cool factor is also a big plus. I can still see the laser beam heading toward the buck I shot this fall when I play it back in my mind!

I love the Luminock. I only bought one and shot a doe with it my first season. Then this last bow season i put it on a arrow. Had a doe under my stand and went to knock the arrow and the luminock broke. One of the hmmmm? "ears" ...or whatever you wanna call it broke off. Luckily i was able to stick her and she didnt go far. I love the luminock and will keep using them. Just wanted to give you a heads up that you might want to check for cracks in it before the hunt. Although it was probably a very rare happening.

Has anyone had any luck putting them into Axis shafts? I've tried a couple but never had any luck actually getting it down into the shaft without bending the heck out of it or breaking it first. I would love to have a lighted nock, I'm color blind and finding my arrow is really tough. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif

Hopefully those new Tracers will fit a lot better into an Axis shaft.

I agree they are hard to get into the Axis arrows, but it can be done. It is better than the flip side, I switched to GT 5575's and had 2 luminocks stay on the string. I couldn't get them to stay snug no matter how I tweaked them. I will be shooting Axis again this year.

Hmm after reading this post, I think Im going to bite the bullet. I have hmm and hawed on the idea for a while. I dont shoot my hunting arrows alot but when I do, By the time I get down I have lost track of exactly where the deer was standing. Might help with being able to tell where I hit as well.

Anyone had any trouble with deer "jumping the string" due to the laser beam? Or atleast they think it was becuase of it?

The tracer is going to be a good route to go with the Axis! One of the reasons East made the tracers again was because of problems getting the contacts to work correctly on the small shafts of the Axis! They work in many cases but failed more on Axis than any other arrow! Boyd is right on with the tracers. But since I am not shooting tracers, I will be sticking with Lumenocks, but will have tons of both for sale! They make video footage AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

AA, I am shooting Monster Buck Hunter model Carbon arrow by Blackhawk/Vapor. Are you familiar with these? They are a large diameter carbon shaft. I hear everyone talking about the AXIS which is small diamerter, I thought. Will the tracers/Luminocks work in the arrows I am shooting?

There are ones that will work! BlackHawk/Vapor is now owned by Gold Tip! The Luminocks will work great with them. Look on the package. You will either need Super Nocks or the Gold Tip nocks!

On the package it will list the arrows that the nock works in! I just got about 50 of the gold tip luminocks in last week, so I will check those packages and see if they are the ones to use on the Vapors when I get to the store this evening!

Ok, thanks. I would like to know if the tracers will work in them also. If you sell them to, maybe I will have to visit your stor site and make a purchase.

Wow, are the tracers new? I just googled them and found the Easton site for them. Pretty impressed by them. I could not find them anywhere to get a price, such as Cabelas or Bass Pro.
