Luminocks

I have been considering getting a couple of these to have on spare arrows in the quiver for shots taken near the end of shooting light. Has anyone had any experience with these?.. good or bad.. I have heard of a few guys complaining they do not lightup all the time, etc.... I shoot GoldTip ProHunter carbon shafts 5575 size.

I bought some for my set up this last spring to get some video footage of me shooting a turkey. I also shoot Goldtips and they required a little modification but it was really simple. I used a round chain-saw file and smoothed the edges inside the arrow shaft and they worked great. Mine have always lit up when shot. I got some great video of my arrow punching through a big gobbler and the slow-motion footage is even better. I can't wait to send one through a big buck this fall!

Its also fun to sail one from about 60 yards at dusk. My neighbor had to come over and ask me about the streak of light he was seeing. The extra weight concerned me but didn't become an issue. Try em' you'll like em!

I got some last christmas and haven't had a chance to hunt with them yet. I tried them in my Goltips and they worked great at first but then were inconsistent whether they would light-up or not. I'll probably give them a try this fall but if anybody has any tips I'd like to hear them.

Skully.... do they need to fit somewhat loose to work properly? ... or why did you have to file the inside to get them to work better ?

I used them last year when i shot my big 8pt and i loved them great for useing while videoing..I was shooting them in CX. Walt

When shooting the Luminoks with CX Maxima's we had to file down the nock collars with sandpaper to take some of the coating off so the Luminok contact points could get a good contact point. The rock once you figure them out. Nothing better for video... they do have special Luminoks for Gold Tip arrows now, FYI.

I bought the ones marked for use on the Goldtip arrows but they still seemed too snug. It was hard to get them to shut off after shooting because of how tightly they would wedge in the arrow shaft. You have to "wiggle" them loose to get them to shut off. You don't want them too loose though or they may fall out.

Why they are illegal? Your guess is as good as mine, but I know they are in KS. At least that what I was told.

Vman and I made some last year, very cheap. There should be a tutorial on here somewhere. We used a led/battery for fishing bobbers, a couple pieces of wire, and some tape, that was it. Very easy to make.

I agree with supertec. Cheaper to make em your self. I did goof up the first one, but still cheaper than buying them. Never tried to post link to another post, but I see you are a PMA member so if it doesn't work do a search.
