Went down to a property I helped a buddy get a turkey (was recently aired on Trophy Pursuit) and decided it was time for me to go for a bird. We set up the blind near standing beans and around 7:15 I saw one hen about 400 yards away across an alfalfa field. They were clearly not coming to me before legal shooting was done- so I snuck out of the blind and grabbed my decoy and decided to go see if she had any toms with her. I sneaked for what seemed like a 1/2 marathon until I saw her head above the weeds and I hunkered down- made one call and raised up my decoy. Immediately 4 toms stood up out of the tall alfalfa/weeds and ran at me full speed- I didnt even get fully behind my decoy while I sat there watching them bicker with each other who was going to come in first. I had to wait to shoot because they were all lined up perfectly and would have shot all 4- this bird didnt have a big beard but was HUGE body and spurs went between 1.625" and 1.750" I was dripping in sweat from the crawl over there but it was quite the rush. Cant wait to make some Panko breaded turkey
