Maine Moose permits

I was reading USA Today on the plane home. They have the section that does news briefs from each state. Being captive on a long flight, I had time to read all the states (and basically the whole paper front to back

)). The Maine entry caught my eye. It mentioned that they had just under 3,000 moose licenses, with an insane number of applicants, both resident and non-resident. To avoid throwing out bogus numbers from memory Maine moose

And people complain about the Iowa draw!

Might as well just go to the moose capital (Newfoundland) with those odds. I was priced out of sheep and moose points in WY this year as well. With some of the draw odds and outrageous costs of preference points it is getting tough to justify playing anymore.

I have been applying for years, I really want to hunt with a pistol, and Maine is one of the few areas you can. Keep hoping each year, but, hope is fading.....
