So, the two top bucks from last year got shot. Neither by my hand, so going into this year I didn't really have any high expectations. I do know as more and more ground gets taken out of CRP our section will be prime bedding.
In a way it is exciting to find out what shows up, but expectations are very low. I wouldn't consider any of these guys "shooters" at this point, but neat to see some deer of the future. For the most part it seems like main frame 8 pts. are all over the farm!
This deer looks very young, but might be the coolest deer on the farm in a couple years. Looks like he is almost growing another beam.
8pt with a split on one side and a kicker on the other. Also has split brows. Looks young, but hard to think a 2 yr. old has this much character.
Here is a decent 8, looks 3-4 with a small sticker at his base.
Here is another 8pt. With a split g2 that I would put at a similar age range (3-4)
8pt, that will be hard to pass with these CRAZY split brows, but needs more inches on the 2's and 3's.
Mystery buck, never got a clear shot of the rack, could be something though.
Over the hill fat turd, you guys tell me? Based on his size I have to think he is an old, old buck! Regardless, he needs shot, whether bad genes or old age.
Going to put out two more cameras in spots I have never really hunted, but now that we are surrounded completely by Ag. fields who knows.
