Managing multiple hunters on one property

I have been hunting an 80 acre farm for the past few years, mostly bow and some later gun seasons. There is a small group of guys that have permission to hunt Early Muzzle loader season. I have a few brush blinds built and one pop up blind in place. There are a few definite shooters hanging out in the area. Would you take down the blinds before Early Muzzle Loader or leave them up? I have no problem with them hunting, just not wanting them to capitalize on the work that I have put in.

Do you know what kinda GUYS they are? I would never use someone else's set up,,but certain guys I have met in the woods,,would.

Depends on the amount of work to tear down and set up. I'd also be cautious if they get along well with the landowner. It shouldn't cause issues but you never know.

I kind of know them, but I do not know if they would use my blinds or not. Most of them are older guys and doubt they would get into a stand. For stands I have either hung them the night I am going to hunt them, after they are done hunting, or just take the stand down and hang it later. This is the first year I have used ground blinds. I would not be hesitant at all but I have passed a lot of good deer and know there are really good ones there this year.

If you absolutely don't want anyone else using your blinds, then I'd say take them down. Not sure how much work you have in the brush blinds or how they were constructed (just brush, or did you use some sort of frame?), but I suppose you could just scatter the brush in that spot, so at least you don't have to haul it in/out. They could always see it and build one out of it, but at least they would have to put some effort in.

Also, since it is a group, do they typically stand/blind hunt, or do they walk thru?

Brush blind I wouldn't worry too much about personally. A ground blind is a different story. I probably wouldn't care if someone used it but I wouldn't want someone, who is careless, using it. Not worth having stuff broken because of some knucklehead not being careful.

I don't think there is any question using someone else's setup is bad form. If you didn't ask, its out. Especially on private. I share with one guy who is great about communication and one who doesn't at all. Makes it tough if you can't tell them no. I wouldnt take them down myself I would lock the zippers together or leave a note and see what happens. Most I would think wouldn't bother. Did run in to a guy in the TV industry that used mine a few times and actually moved my stand in the tree to accommodate his camera stand and set up. When I went to him and told him to stop he said I was jealous of him being in video. Stand up guy.

you have to remember that if it is not your land and there are several guys hunting the property i would have to say what ever stand or blind is in the woods is fair game if the land owner does not have a problem with i, I for one would not sit in someone elses stand or blind but im sure on a area that small there are only a few good spots to set stands or blinds

I am not to sure on how they hunt the property. The group is mostly older guys. I think they sit on the ground and maybe have the last person push through before the end of the day.

The brush blinds are just piled up limbs, I'm not going to tear them down, plus I do have some that are backed up into rose bushes. Maybe this next summer I will transplant rose bush to where I want to keep putting blinds at in the future.

Just hoping that with how early muzzy is falling this year, they do not get a better chance at a trophy.
