Well this is my 4th year bow hunting and ive killed 3 bucks in the 140s so i kinda whated to hold out for something a little bigger. But i have a farm tag and a regular tag so when this dude came by at 20 yards he was too hard to pass up. Heres the story!...

I had been watching a switch grass field for about a week before the season. Almost every night id see the same bacholar group get out of their beds on the side of this hill, they would kinda walk around in the switch grass for a while then head down a terrace to a thick fence line. Once they hit that fence line they'd walk down it till they hit an alfalfa field.

I figured if i could get in my stand on that fence line within the first couple days of october with the right wind id have a good chance at a 10 id been getting on camara. And it turns out last night the conditions were perfect!

I got in my stand about 3:30, the bucks usually stared getting up at about 6:15. Sure enough i saw a rack pop up out of the grass at about 6. then three other racks popped up. I didnt see the big 10 i was after but i saw another 1o that looked super old. After a while they hit the terrace and started walking to the fence line. I couldnt believe it! how often does your plan actually work on october 2nd!? They made their way down the fence line where i was nocked and ready! I let the first 3 bucks walk by then i stopped the old 10 right a 20 yards and let the mathews do what it does best!

He went about 150 yards then piled up. Hes not the biggest deer on my farm but hes old and i have some history with him and i have two bow tags! So come november i hope to have another post on here. Sorry bout the long post, thanks for reading and good luck to everyone! :way:
