well I live about a half a block from the milo locker, so that is usually where we take all of ours.

The 'Bonker will show some class and not cross the line....even though I may suffer from a fit of some kind in doing so. It, the fit, also know as a "spell" (something suffered, not cast), would be as a result of my new years resolution "Keeping it clean in the freebie forums". Now if this had been posted in the PMA section....Holy Wah, keep your kids away from the screen.

Just bonker basically saying that if this question was in the PMA he would of come out with what of his "Bonkerism's" (saying) and made a good joke out of this "Meat Locker" thread.
We like to have fun every once in awhile and well "bonker" all the time

Most folks don't understand me, so consider yourself normal. I'd tell ya where I take my meat, but, you are a little young to understand. To answer your question, I take my dead deer to Ruzika's in Solon. I've taken my dead deer to a few different lockers in the area. The reason I keep going back to Ruzika's is 1: Its close 2: Its clean 3: They are freindly 4: They give free hats of a different style every year 5: I buy smoked hams there 6: They make the best Landsjagers (sp)around 7: I like the way it smells in there. The only thing negative I can say is they don't have a "menu" of what they can make out of your dead deer so I always just get the loins whole, the tenders, if I didn't rip them out in the gutting process, two pound roasts out of the hind quarters, a roast or two out of the front shoulders, that is if Muddy or JNRBRONC didn't destroy 'em when they shot 'em, and the rest ground into hamburger, without beef tallow. I will admit though, the last deer that was donated to me I did have the chops cut out so I didn't get the loins whole.

I too am from Oskaloosa. The places I have gone to in the past are Ulrich's in Pella, Dayton Meat's in Malcom on the interstate, and Leighton Locker. All seem to have their own talents depending on what you get. I will say one thing that sells me and that is vacuum sealing. Leighton is the only one that doesn't do it. My friends and myself are going to start trying to make our own summer sausage and bologna this year. Good luck with you choice!

I too have gone to Leighton locker... but wasnt completely satisfied... i was just curious as to where u guys take ur meat!... would it be cheaper to invest in "doing it yourself".... makin your own products.. bologna? summer sausage?? it may cost at first.. but does it end up being cheaper in the long run.. or should i just stick to takin it to the lockers???
