Meet "Independence"

I finished this osage longbow on the 4th so felt that was a fitting name. Both for the date and my new found independence from having somebody else build one for me.
Bow is 68 inches and 50 lbs. @ 28. Rawhide backed. Shoots great!
A fun and rewarding experience to make.

I should add, no power tools were used in building this bow. I rough shaped it with an axe, then finished up with a drawknife, rasp, file and pocket knife.



I've got another stave I just draw knifed the sap wood from but so far I'm not seeing a bow in it.
