Mineral mix for tick control on wildlife?

Got this from Habitat Talk...any thoughts?

Any brand of good cattle mineral (Having 8% Phosphorus is the key).
If it has 8% phosphorus the rest of the nutrients will fall into place.
Add 1-2 lbs granulated garlic per 100 lbs.
5 lbs molasses mixed in and some on top.
Could add feed grade sulfur at .5 lbs per 100 too.
Get it out there by mid April. February is ideal. Into august.
The mineral with garlic are game changers for EHD IMO too.
I would clearly take measures to have it gone by deer season. Could dig it up with tractor or skid steer bucket. Or could cover it with a hay bale.
Don’t waste your $ on high salt content mineral with low phosphorus levels. It’s just overpriced diluted junk.
Deer can handle the copper. Chelated copper is best, at least that is what I was told by someone who really does know what they are talking about.

Different parts of my farm get hit way harder than others.
If new to it at all…. Add very little garlic & more salt/molasses to start. They get used to it & then u can increase rates of garlic a bit or whatever - they will pound it. Get em used to it!! Even adding a bit of cracked corn if u wanted to really try to get their faces in it and try it. Every spot of mine- they destroy it. But some spots it’s like a bag every 2 weeks and others every 1.5 months - everything in between.

Do you dump on ground or do you have mineral stations?
Both. I usually have them in spots I don’t hunt near. Which I understand isn’t ideal on some farms/scenarios. Others I’ll put in tubs with lil drain holes that are easy to clean up or cover up others. Lots of ways & not that big of deal to clean up IMO.

I bought Grandpa Rays mx last year- could smell the garlic- put 5lbs into a 1600lb feeder in Ohio and they didnt even touch it when it was the only corn around and winter conditions.

Dumped the feeder.

@Sligh1 , do you ever see a decrease in usage after adding sulphur or is that a non-issue?
I personally have no issue. I run granular garlic.
For ABOVE where it says they wouldn’t touch it….
1) you can get encapsulated garlic where you can’t smell or taste it. One example, I think Analogics has encapsulated garlic in their pellets. I’m certain there’s plenty of ways to find it. I just googled it and tons comes up…
2) when I do it & u can smell it like crazy … I add lots of molasses to it. Or some of that stuff they make to top dress corn piles in states that allow it. Kinda like a koolaid type smell/flavor.
I personally have not had an issue but if u start at a lower rate & add other stuff to it…. Watch how they react. They have always eaten mine.
