Minivan Buck

First deer of the year, unfortunately it ran into the wifes Minivan this morning. The buck came barreling out of the ditch on the opposite side of the road, jumped the entire lane and rolled right into the hood of my van. Broke both rear legs. I was driving and my 9yo daughter was in the passengar seat and pretty shook up. Wife is pissed cause van is out of comission. Another claim for the insurance companies. Sheriff came out and shot it for me and wrote up the salvage tag. 10 pointer, 18" inside the rack. Teeth looked good yet, im guessing a 3 or 4 yo buck?

Looks like near the herd of deer I hunt with mini brow tines like that.. That's one way to get another set of antlers for the house without burning a tag..

Dude, don't be a di*k, it was just a question to get a feel where they are moving, not like I'm gonna pack up and head his way. Get a clue yourself.

There is nothing wrong with asking the general area like what county it was taken and so forth. Some people need to realize it is deer hunting not gold mining chill OUT!!

Nice deer to bad about the circumstances

If someone wants to give their where abouts that is fine but to ask is tabboo.

Just about caught a nice one with the Chevy lastnight headed to work. And lets get over this crap about not asking. He asked and did it in a good manner. Its hunting. Where I come from we all talk and share everything. Nobody's gonna invade or take anything. We do this for fun. Get over it man. Chill.....

So you never had your ground leased out from under you because you posted pix of a trophy deer on the net?

Outfitters do it for money. Ugly but true. So to each his own.

My bad I had a few before I wrote that. It was uncalled for and I apologize. It just gets to me when a person asks we're I killed a deer at. But that's just me.

I hit the deer on Feather Ridge Road. This is in the Wikiup Hill area NW Linn County between Toddville and Palo. Huge Preserve and public hunting there and lots of riverbottom so lots of big bucks in the area (come and get them if you can wink wink). I saw another buck had been hit a mile down the road from mine on Blairs Ferry road, and someone had sawed its antlers off.

I had heard a rumor that someone got a 220 class in the area, but haven't been able to substantiate that rumor yet.

Dad and I finished butchering the buck today. The Sheriff who shot it wasn't a very good shot. I think he was going for a head shot, but the first shot went into its lower back and the second one to the base of the skull. Alot of spoiled meat just the shot in the back and the accident damage.

Reminds me of Ron White on Deer hunting. Slow the arrow down to 55, put a set of lights on it and a horn, and they'll jump in front of it.

Nice looking buck anyways.

I didn't mean to start anything or cross any boundaries, just curious for movement sakes.

Yeah, I"m not sure where there has to be arguements on this, it was a road kill. Bummer for the van.

ok this is odd. I butchered the deer Sunday and I threw the gut pile in my Garden. I went out this morning and gut pile was not in the same spot. Deer tracks all around and my garden looks like somebody took a rake to it. Guts were in a big pile of dirt.

Is it possible another buck got the scent and spread the guts around with his antlers, cause thats what it looks like?

No ones gonna believe this but I've seen a documentary that deer have actually be recorded eating other dead deer. Not sure if this is the case but thought that was crazy stuff!
