It is going to be a good fall!
I shot this buck in my 160 acre farm in Western Minnesota (Swift County). The property is half wooded and half crop land. Good soils and we usually see some nice bucks, but getting them to age 4,5, or 6 is tough.
We have been after a buck for the past two years that shows up in October and stays for the rut.
Same thing happened this fall. We got his pic in early October. He likes to rut and chase does on our farm.
I got in the stand at a decent time, cooler weather. Pretty ideal conditions, but it was over 15 mph winds.
I saw a few does, and then at 6:10 I heard him coming. I believe he was thrashing a small tree behind me for awhile and then on his way to my corn field…. It was a 30 yard shot and the rest is history. My biggest buck in Minnesota!
