Missed the buck of a lifetime tonight

Get in the woods. Big boys are on their feet. I missed an absolute giant at 36 yards tonight. I shot him for 40 and he was on alert as I had no choice but to stop him. I f***ed up and forgot to aim low. I am certain he ducked upon release and the arrow sailed 1/2" over his back. I am so bummed I could puke. After I missed him a shooter 8 came out and I didn't even pick my bow up. When a 150" 8 looks small you know you just saw a monster.

Missed is better than wounded. He is still alive and you where in the right spot once. You'll get another shot.

Saturday evening I had the biggest buck I've got on trail cam this year on either of my farms at 100 yards, grunted twice at him and he started coming in, about 50-60 yards out something spooked him and he turned the other way. It was really tough watching him go the other way but at least I know he's stayed around since summer and may have another chance at him, you may get another shot at that deer too.

I saw a ton of bucks cruising today on my way down- filmed a nice buck under me tonight and even got a snort wheeze on camera- and when I got back to the car there were two shooters locked up - crazy good night

At least you have another chance at him this way. I hit a buck of a lifetime and haven't seen him since. That was three years ago and I replay it daily probably 9 months out of the year. Pathetic?, yes some would say but it's the worst feeling. Keep your head up and good luck on your quest for redemption!
