This method can be used to transplant bareroot seedlings at any time of the year!! You plant them in the gravel bed in spring, water regularly and fertilize and can move them out even in July!!! I am going to make one and will report back the results. I plan on moving after they harden off in the fall and do not want to chance a July transplant.

If it works like it says, it would be the way to transplant bare root seedlings. They would have more fiborous root systems and could be planted at any time of the year. I will give it a test run next spring and see how it really works.
 
I always thought of bare root seedlings as being anywhere from 12" up to about 18". I laughed when I watched the video of the 3 guys lifting that giant "bareroot" tree around!
