Does anyone have an opinion on the price of seed,,like rye, wheat or oats? Are the companies talked about on here better than local feed stores? Has anyone ever dealt with Wapello county Seed? I know the answer probably is price it myself and find out.

For items like you have listed I would go to your local seed source. To expensive to ship heavy seeds like grains and it will all be quality seed.

Small seeds like clover and brassicas are less expensive to ship but if you check around you will also find good quality seeds like Alice White clover at local seed sources.

Welters is just an example of a reputable source especially for less common items like peas for instance.

Seed oats from my local supplier are $17 for a two bushel bag (32#'s per bushel) so just compare apples to apples...all "bags" are not neccessarily created equal... /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

One bushel from Welters is $8.25 PLUS shipping...so no way would I order bulky seeds that require shipping.

I'm sure Wapello County Seed will take care of you just fine /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif
